Our Mission

The Cedar House, located in Abilene, KS, is a women’s sober living environment where we provide an atmosphere of caring support, structure, rules, education and guidance.

Our Focus

th-missionbThe Cedar House works with women who have a deep desire to stay sober and who are willing to make a long-term commitment to changing how they live their lives.

We recommend residents make a commitment of one year. Residents must complete a period of drug and/or alcohol treatment prior to entrance into The Cedar House program.

Although we believe that true recovery can only come from within the individual, we also believe that there are many tools and strategies one needs to learn in order to understand one self, to cope with her disease, and to establish a healthy, happy and fulfilling life.

The Cedar House provides residents with mentors, sponsors, and on-site therapy to create a vision for a clean and sober life, and to establish goals which lead toward the achievement of that vision.

Our Principles:

To Self:
Look up
God Loves me; I am changing
This moment is a gift
Now say thank you for it
Go from here vs. there
Allow myself to be blessed

To Community:
Be part of
Look beyond me
I was made for community
There is enough here
Plant something
Allow blessings

To Spirit:
Look in
Cooperate with creation
Gods life is in my life and my moments
Be still and know
Be still
Be

Testimonial

“I have always felt out of place. Walking into The Cedar House I found my sense of belonging. People who knew my day to day struggles. They did not judge, instead they embraced me. Without this community I would not be alive today. They have shown me a new way of living.” – Kendra
